Parent Strategy Session - $300

This meeting is an opportunity to discuss your child and your interest in boarding school, to ask questions, and to make a plan for the admissions process. For some families, this is the only meeting they will have before going through the process independently. Other families will continue with the Boarding School Admissions Package, and the $300 fee will be credited toward the cost of the package.

Boarding School Admissions Package

This package can start at any time of year and will take you through the entire application and school evaluation process. It includes:

  • Assessment of Student:
Identify the family’s goals for boarding school and delve into the student’s academic, extracurricular, and social background and needs. This includes a review of the transcript, testing, and discussions with both the student and parents.

  • Application Timeline and Strategy:
Design a personalized strategy to help students get admitted to their top choice schools, while also having a balanced list of safer options. Provide the client with a clear timeline of due dates.

  • Application Support:
Assist with the application and all its components. Discuss essay topics, review parent and student writing. Advise on testing strategies, teacher recommendations and coordination with current school, and on outreach to prospective schools.

  • Interview Prep & Student Support:
Discuss school choices and boarding school life with the student. Conduct mock interviews and provide typical interview questions and feedback on ways to improve.

  • Advocacy:
In some cases, we contact the school on the student’s behalf to discuss their candidacy or to schedule an interview, or confirm receipt of documents.

  • Making the Final Decision:
Help families evaluate school options, revisit days, and the final school decision.
